Bio
Marquessa Gilson enters her first season as Head Coach of the Centralia Blazers women’s basketball program, bringing a strong background in player development, culture building, and leadership.
Gilson most recently served as an assistant coach at Westminster University and previously at Adams State University, where she helped guide the program to an NCAA Regional Tournament appearance. She has also found success at the junior college level, serving as head coach at Pierce College (2022–2024), leading the team to back-to-back NWAC Tournament appearances, and as an assistant at Lower Columbia College, where she was part of a NWAC Championship staff in 2022.
A former collegiate student-athlete, Gilson played at BYU–Hawaii and Colorado Mesa University. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Weber State University and a Master’s degree from Western Governors University.
Gilson is known for her energy, authenticity, and commitment to developing young women into confident leaders on and off the court.
